Delivery Options:
Aventa
School: This is Aventa's complete
solution for full-time or part-time online students taking any of our original
credit courses. This delivery option includes hosting, courses and HQ state-certified
instructors all provided by Aventa Learning. Aventa School courses are sold
on a per student, per course, per semester basis and are available on an open
enrollment basis. In other words, we do not have set course terms and students
can move through our online courses at their own pace.
Mentor training for Aventa
School is required. Training options may include web-based training, on-site
training at each district, or your local ESD may host sometime in August.
Credit
Recovery: This is Aventa's complete solution for students needing to
make up credits using our specially designed credit recovery courses. This delivery
option includes hosting, courses and HQ state-certified instructors all provided
by Aventa Learning. Our credit recovery courses include pre-unit assessments
that drive the content that students are required to complete, meaning they
can test out of content that they already know. These courses also include several
enhancements for students who have language challenges. Examples include icons
to have the content read aloud (in English), reading levels adjusted one or
two grade levels below course content, pre-teaching of vocabulary (English and
Spanish) which can also be read aloud, and activities that feature non-linguistic
representations graphic organizers, timelines, word webs, CLOZE activities,
drag and drop responses, etc.
Credit Recovery courses are
sold in blocks of 10 concurrent seat annual licenses. This means that districts
may have up to 10 credit recovery course enrollments active at any given time
during a 12-month period. As students complete their course(s), or if they are
dropped from their course(s), those seats become available for another student
or for the same student enrolled in another course. Each credit recovery course
is the equivalent to a .5 credit or semester course. For example, Algebra I
is made up of two semester courses: Algebra I A and Algebra I B.
Mentor training for Credit
Recovery is required. Training options may include web-based training, on-site
training at each district, or your local ESD may host sometime in August.
